Sajjad Zaheer got his masters degree in Economics from University of Amsterdam in 2009. He served in State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the central bank, as deputy director for two years. Currently, he is on leave from SBP for PhD studies.His PhD project focuses on transmission of monetary policy through conventional and Islamic banks in an emerging economy. Moreover, his study also compares the conventional and Islamic banking systems in terms of bussiness model, stability, asset quality and efficiency. His supervisors are Prof. Sweder van Wijnbergen and Prof. Steven Ongena.
