Interested in purchasing this book or using it for a course? Any bookshop can order the book for you, but see also Springer Online. Or, if you prefer, get the rather more affordable Student Edition.

After its first printing in 2001, the book has been reprinted several times. Nothing essential has changed, see our list of typos, minor additions and clarifications. If you find more, please notify me.

A solution manual containing solutions to virtually all the exercises in the book is available from the authors. Also, my own slides for classroom use are now available for teachers. Using a beamer, one might use these instead of transparencies. The pages can also be printed directly to get legible, ready for class-room use transparencies, in 21-pt font on A4-landscape.
To get the full files, write to me, adding some details about the course for which you intend to use these slides.
